Caroline is the Country Manager of Oikocredit, responsible for developing Oikocredit’s lending portfolio in Kenya. She has a combined wealth of 17 years experience in the banking and development finance sectors. She possesses expertise in relationship building and structuring lending propositions that drive portfolio growth whilst delivering social impact.Caroline is a graduate of University of Nairobi with a major in Sociology.
Mr. Maina joined Caritas Microfinance Bank in September 2013. He has over 20 years’ hands-on experience in Microfinance having worked in several roles at different levels of seniority. He has held senior positions at some of the leading Microfinance Banks in Kenya namely Faulu, SMEP and K-rep. George was the founding CEO of Musoni Kenya the first mobile phone based MFI. He has ample experience in microfinance start- up operations and capacity building for MFIs. Mr. Maina holds a Bachelors’ Degree in Economics and a Masters’ Degree in Agricultural Marketing & Management.
Mary has been a practitioner in Microfinance Industry for over 20 years. Prior to joining ECLOF KENYA on 22nd February 2011 as a CEO, she was the Head of Business Development Department in Faulu Kenya Microfinance Bank. The following are some of her academic and professional achievements; Masters in Banking and Finance (MF Option) from Moi University, Bachelor of Business Administration from Kenya Methodist University, Higher Diploma in Psychological Counseling from Maranatha Institute of Counseling and Training, Diploma in Management from Kenya Institute of Management (KIM) as well as Certified Public Accounting (CPA). Her passion is in leadership capacity building and institution development.
Philip Ochola is a Kenyan aged 50 years. He has held senior management positions in the Micro Finance and Banking sectors for over 15 years. He joined VisionFund International in October 2012 from Jamii Bora Bank where he was serving as the Chief Operations Officer. He is currently the Chief Executive Officer of VisionFund Kenya since January 2014. Prior to joining VisionFund Kenya, he served as the Interim Chief Executive Officer of VisionFund Rwanda and as the Deputy Regional Director for East Africa with VisionFund International. Philip has attended the Harvard Business School’s Advanced Management Programme in Strategic Leadership for Micro Finance. He also holds an MSc Degree in Sustainable Infrastructure (Sweden), MA Degree in Population Studies and BA Degree in Sociology and Anthropology both from the University of Nairobi.
Patrick firmly believes in the ability of microfinance to contribute to development and alleviate poverty. He has worked in the microfinance sector from the year 2003, building an illustrious career from a loans officer. Has held various responsibilities including; Accountant, Branch Manager, Internal Audit Manager and is currently The Chief Executive Officer of BIMAS Kenya Limited. He holds a Bachelor of Arts (Economics & Sociology) degree from the University of Nairobi, an MBA in Strategic Management from Kenya Methodist University and is currently pursuing a Doctorate degree in Business Administration (Leadership and Change Management) at USIU. Patrick is a professional accountant (CPAK) and a full member of the Kenya Institute of Management.
Mr. Kimuyu is founder and the managing director of Jubilant Kenya ltd (the community microfinance company specializing in credit and investments).Cyprian is an accomplished business manager and expert in corporate strategy, corporate formation, financial modeling, portfolio, investments management and marketing. Previously he worked for Faulu Kenya (Microfinance bank), Barclays Bank and Standard Chartered bank. He brings to Jubilant a different approach in microfinance that adds more value to the business and the clients. Cyprian is an active member of AMPK (Association of microfinance professionals of Kenya) He holds a bachelors degree in business management (Banking and Finance), A diploma in Business administration and currently pursuing his MBA. He was awarded degree of doctor of leadership and management philosophy PhD (Honaris Causa) Cyprian is one of the youngest CEOs in the financial sector in Kenya and driven by passion to eradicate poverty which has hindered many from celebrating financial freedom and realizing their dreams. He is involved in mentorship programs for the youth that create self awareness and offers a platform for the business incubation. He is self motivated and ready to revolutionalize the micro finance sector and unearth a new dawn to Entrepreneurship.
Simon is a Microfinance Banking practitioner and a Business Strategist with 18 years of experience in the financial services sector. His experience ranges from strategy development and implementation, to business development, retail banking, operations, risk management, auditing, and accounting. Simon’s aspiration is to empower the small income enterprise segment to realize their dreams. He is a husband and father of two, and actively engaged in church and several charitable causes.
Bernard has over 17 years experience in the microfinance industry. He is the Chief Executive Officer at Juhudi Kilimo a microfinance company that focuses on rural smallholder farmers and micro entrepreneurs. Prior to Juhudi Kilimo, Bernard held numerous leadership positions, notably at Faulu Kenya as the Head of Business Development and as Chief Executive Officer at Letshego Rwanda Limited. During his tenure at Letshego and Faulu, Bernard played a pivotal role in supporting both companies achieve stunning business growth in a rapidly changing, competitive and demanding business environment. He has an MBA in strategic management and a Bachelor of Arts degree from Moi University.
Mr. Gichana was elected as a board member to the AMFI-Kenya Board on 26th May 2017. Mr. Gichana is the Chief Executive Officer and Executive Director of Maisha Microfinance Bank Limited, the 13th Microfinance Bank to be issued with a deposit taking license by Central Bank of Kenya. Mr. Gichana is a seasoned banker with a working experience in both microfinance and conventional banking spanning over 24 years. Previously Mr. Gichana worked at Faulu Microfinance Bank Limited as Head of Operations between 2010 and September 2015. Mr. Gichana has also worked with Standard Chartered Bank of Kenya Limited in various positions, including Head of Branch Operations and Service Delivery responsible for the branches network, as well as Risk Enhancement Project Manager-East Africa.
